TRANSPORT OF DANGEROUS GOODS – ADR

According to the ADR, the classification of dangerous substances is as follows:

Class 1: explosive substances and articles
Class 2: gases
Class 3: flammable liquids
Class 4.1: flammable solids, self-reactive substances and explosive substances, solid desensitized
Class 4.2: spontaneously combustible substances
Class 4.3: substances which, in contact with water, evolve flammable gases
Class 5.1: oxidising substances
Class 5.2: organic peroxides
Class 6.1: toxic substances
Class 6.2: infectious substances
Class 7: radioactive substances
Class 8: corrosive substances
Class 9: miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles

What documents do you need for transporting hazardous substances?

  1. Transport licence and/or execution licence for vehicles used for the transport of dangerous goods. An application for this document must be submitted to the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure.
  2. Certificate for the vehicle carrying goods, issued by the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure (corresponding to the type of ADR goods being carried)
  3. Necessary equipment for the road vehicle according to ADR.
  4. Signs and labels for signalling
  5. A.D.R. certificate – vocational training certificate issued by the Ministry of Transport for drivers of vehicles transporting dangerous goods.

What special obligations have the driver during transportation of dangerous goods?

Regarding the specific ADR training for the driver of the vehicle transporting dangerous goods, there is a legal request that the driver must have a driving license more than one year old from the date of issue, and Olalina -rans offers this service through experienced and very professional drivers.

International law prohibits the driver of vehicle transporting dangerous goods & products following:

  • cause shocks to the vehicle while driving;
  • smoking while driving or lighting fires when stopped or stationary at a distance of less than 50 m from the vehicle;
  • leave the vehicle and its load unsupervised by himself, or his companion;
  • tow a stalled vehicle;
  • to follow other routes or to stop in other places than those established;
  • allow other persons to be in the vehicle except the other driver, the accompanying persons or those loading or unloading the goods or products being transported;
  • to keep in the vehicle fuel supplies in packaging not specially made for that purpose.
